Lesley Bown and Ann Gawthorpe (writers) have been writing comedy together for more than 10 years. They have had several successes in previous Southwest Scriptwriters' competitions and last year their farce Over Exposure – a runner-up in 2000 – played to full houses at the Alma Theatre. Contact Ann at ajgawthorpe@line.net or Lesley at mike.les@ukonline.co.uk or phone Ann on 01934 833965 or write to PO Box 105, Clevedon, Somerset, BS21 6RG.

Mark Smalley (director) I directed a play at the New Writing Festival last year, and enjoyed it so much I’m back for more. I work as a Radio 4 producer along Whiteladies Road on literary programmes such as Poetry Please, as well as history documentaries. I’m beginning to cut my teeth directing radio dramas, which, in terms of radio, really seems to be where the action’s at. I find it invaluable to get a sense of directing actors in the round here at the Tobacco Factory, contrasting with radio’s focus on the voice. mark.smalley@bbc.co.uk

Charlotte D'Arcy (stage manager) has been on a placement with the stage management department of the Nottingham Playhouse and at the Salisbury Playhouse. Recently graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where she was the Stage Manager on The Front Page and The Witch of Edmonton tour, DSM on The Mysteries, ASM on Maria Marten, Sound Designer/Operator on A Small Family Business, and Construction Assistant on The Merry Wives of Windsor. She drives, has good music and score reading skills, and is looking for work in a Stage Management department. Email Charlotte at charlottedarcy@yahoo.co.uk.
